Elijah Canfield is an engineer, entrepreneur, and the author of the RESET speculative science-fiction series.
Before writing fiction, he spent years building, operating, and studying complex systems. His background includes mechanical engineering, patented product development, technology, digital marketplaces, ecommerce, real estate, and consumer businesses.
That experience shaped RESET, a series interested not only in artificial intelligence and first contact, but in what happens when systems become more capable than the people who created them expected.
His fiction explores discovery, unintended consequences, memory, power, adaptation, and the choices people make when the structures they trust stop behaving predictably.
Elijah lives in Michigan with his family.
Why I Wrote RESET
RESET began with a question: What if first contact did not begin with a ship in the sky, but with artificial intelligence noticing a pattern humanity had missed?
From there, the story became an exploration of observation, responsibility, knowledge, and the systems people create without fully understanding what those systems may eventually reveal.
